Breaking Up the Fallow Ground
I was reading the autobiography of Charles Finney and how the Lord had used him in such a strong way near the end of the 1700’s to bring great revival. One of the chapters in his book was called “Breaking up the Fallow Ground”. This is something that happens in the life of a believer. Areas of his life that were once fertile have now grown hard, dry and weedy. Revival is that man coming and plowing up that area or ground that has been left fallow. This was the Lord coming into that area and making it fertile again. The man in this sculpture is what a kibbutz member would look like around the turn of the 20th century.
