Naomi and Ruth

I relate the story of Ruth and Naomi as a possible prophetic picture of the relationship of the Church to Israel. There are two types of churches – one like Ruth clinging to Naomi (Israel), and the other like Orpha turning back to her own people and gods. Naomi is broken, barren, and bitter. However, her one daughter-in-law gives her support and says, “Your people will be my people and your God my God…”(Ruth 1:16).
