The Lukewarm Church

I was working on a piece of sculpture with the idea in mind of someone breaking free. Normally when I start a piece in the clay, I start with a basic design in anatomy. When the figure was partially done, I looked at it on the worktable and felt the Lord say that this is the Church – the lukewarm church. I felt shocked and a little bit intimidated that this was such a strong word. The figure is not attractive at all, is not in and not out, neither hot nor cold. He is bound, but doesn’t even realize it because he has never really moved his arm. It is a totally pathetic situation that is waiting to be spewed out of the Lord’s mouth.
